I Went to Drumheller Today, and didn't Leave my School!

     To round out our ED3508 class we had a virtual tour of the Royal Tyrrell Museum.  This was my first introduction to VC, or video conferencing.  I found this to be an amazing resource.  No longer will I be limited to a local place that we can easily get to.  The whole world will be avaliable to my class.  We can visit the Great Barrier Reef or we can take a tour of a museum in Chicago.  What an amazing resource to have!
     Not only can VC be used for field trips, but it allows rural communities to share teachers with specalities.  If School A has a great physics teacher, they "share" that teacher with School B through VC.  Now students in even the most remote areas can access resources that will allow them to take the steps forward to follow their passion.
     I think that this would be a great resource to use to interact with different classrooms around the world.  It would allow our students in their safe, warm classrooms a glimpse into what other students have to endure to get  an education.  This would be a very good lesson for our children.  It would give our students a better picture of the world and a personal insight into what other children their age are facing.
     I hope that I will be ale to implement this in my classroom someday.
